MaP Membership FAQ

FAQ

Individual members can participate in free events or purchase tickets to paid events that interest them. Those who want more benefits can choose a Supporting Membership, which provides access to all paid events and programs, plus discounts on courses and workshops. (Please note individuals are not eligible to participate in our upcoming collaboration with John Falk. Only Museum Members are eligible for the program.)

Institutions that enroll as Museum Members can invite any or all of their staff to join the community and receive all the benefits of Supporting Membership at no cost to them as individuals. Additionally, enrolled institutions can contribute data to research studies and attend private briefings to explore the implications of research findings at their organizations.

You can register as many of your colleagues as you like. Pricing is based on your museum’s budget, not the number of staff enrolled.

Once you sign up for a free trial, we’ll send you a unique registration link that you can distribute to your team(s) so that each person can create their account. By using your invite link, individuals will automatically be associated as members that belong to your organization. (Staff will need to register using their work email addresses.)

Yes. All cultural institutions and cultural professionals are welcome to participate in the MaP Community. This includes public gardens, zoos, aquaria, historic sites, and similar organizations.

Members participate in the programs and events that interest them. This is the case for all members, whether enrolled as individuals or under an organizational account.

The exception to this is if/when an institution enrolls in Museum Membership and opts into a research study. For example, if you wanted to participate in a study like Community Goals and the Purposes of Membership, you would complete a short registration form and then send an email with a link to some of your members so that we can collect data for the study.

No. All you need to do is share your registration link with any staff you’d like to invite. If you cancel your membership in the future, all registered members from your organization will become free members.

All members — whether free, paid, or registered under a Museum Membership account — can leave the community by closing their account at any time.

Anyone in your organization that you believe would appreciate participating in MaP Community programs or events. You can share your invitation link with all staff or limit participation to a select few staff members. Your link will remain active for as long as your organization is enrolled. so you can start small and invite more colleagues later. If you’d like to invite individuals who are not staff (e.g., board members or volunteers who do not have an email address at your museum), let us know and we’ll be able to help you invite them in.

We can extend your free trial. Just email us at community@museumprogress.com and let us know you need more time.

Use the form below to upload the files you need us to complete or email them to community(at)museumprogress.com. We’ll return the completed documents to you in a day or so.

Managing your account

You have control over your membership and can make changes under your account settings: https://community.museumprogress.com/account. In your account settings, you’ll find options to update your profile, change your notifications and email preferences, manage subscriptions, view transactions or download invoices, and manage your payment methods.

Each member has an account (including those enrolled in Museum Membership) so that they can set their preferences for things like notifications and emails and participate in forum discussions.

Payments

Payment information and transaction history for organizations enrolled in Museum Membership can be accessed under the account settings of the individual who registers the organization. Museum Membership can be paid online via credit/debit card or by invoice. Invoices can be paid by ACH or check. If you prefer to pay by invoice, email us.

Supporting Members can update their paid subscription or cancel under their account settings. All individual membership transactions are conducted online via credit or debit card (we don’t offer invoicing for Supporting Membership).
